Hi, I’m Vida!
I’m happy to help. I have a deep empathy for people, community, and the environment. I strive daily to make a positive difference in this world, wherever I can.
I have been designing digital products ever since customizing my first high-school Livejournal page. I am a former 4th grade school teacher with a background working in museums, archaeology and art history. In those fields I regularly encountered ways that technology was both a help and a hinderance to the people who used it. Helping to ease the burden ineffective technology can have on others has been a constant theme throughout my work history, therefore I felt a natural and immediate inclination towards UX|UI Design.
In both my working and personal life, I am a self-proclaimed nerd. I throw myself head-first into all my passions; watching anime, tinkering with design iterations, editing projects in Photoshop and Illustrator, playing pretend with my kid, having deep, theoretical discussions about Marvel movies with my husband, and thinking of clever things to say to make others laugh.
Growing up as an Army-brat with Michigan roots, I am from everywhere and nowhere all at once. My experiences moving around the world with my family instilled in me a great sensitivity to others, and a deep respect for the vast differences and similarities we all share as humans. Knowing that at heart, all anyone truly wants is to be happy, I have always made it my goal to help as many people as I can with that.
